On the occasion of the 18th World Autism Awareness Day, the Youth League Committee of CHN Energy held the "Starlight Companion" themed public welfare event in Beijing. The event was professionally supported by the China Association of Rehabilitation Medicine of the China Association of Social Workers, and jointly participated in by 23 member units of CHN Energy’s "Starlight Companion" Volunteer Service Alliance.
The event included music performances by children with autism, volunteer presentations, a charity art exhibition and a charity sale. Hundreds of paintings and related products created by children with autism and volunteers were exhibited on-site. Within just one hour of the event's start, donations from 206 caring individuals were received. The proceeds will be used to fund rehabilitation courses and teaching aids for families of children with autism in need through the China Charity Federation platform.
The "Starlight Companion" Volunteer Service Alliance is the result of ten years of experience of the CHN Energy Youth League Committee in caring for children with autism. As of the end of March this year, the alliance has expanded to 23 subsidiaries and branches, and 34 volunteer service organizations, covering 14 provinces and autonomous regions across the country. As the leading unit of the alliance, the Capital Holdings 1+1 Charity Society has organized more than 1,500 volunteers and accumulated over 30,000 service hours over the past decade, providing long-term assistance to more than 100 children with autism.
